The Ministry of Commerce of Cambodia recently hosted a cooperation signing ceremony between the Cambodia Cassava Federation and the Vietnam Cassava Association. The event, chaired by H.E. Cham Nimul, Minister of Commerce of Cambodia, took place in Phnom Penh on October 23, 2025.

The ceremony welcomed nearly 100 delegates, including representatives from government agencies, embassies, cassava associations, banks, and businesses from both countries.

Mr. Le Huu Hung, Chairman of Hung Duy Group and Vice President of the Vietnam Cassava Association, led a delegation of cassava starch manufacturers from Tay Ninh to participate in the signing of trade agreements under the cooperation framework. Under the agreement, the parties will source approximately 9 million tons of fresh cassava annually from Cambodia marking the establishment of a strategic supply chain partnership. This collaboration is expected to strengthen raw material development, ensure stable input supply for production expansion, and enhance operational efficiency across processing facilities in the coming years.

The successful participation of the delegation underscores a significant milestone in advancing production, processing, and trade within the cassava industry, contributing to sustainable development for both Vietnam and Cambodia.
