A trade promotion conference between the Cambodia Cassava Federation and the Tay Ninh Tapioca Starch Producers Association was held in Tay Ninh on December 3, 2025, marking a key milestone in advancing cross-border collaboration in the cassava sector between Vietnam and Cambodia.
The event brought together senior officials from Cambodia’s Ministry of Commerce, alongside representatives from Tay Ninh’s Department of Industry and Trade, Department of Agriculture and Environment, Department of Foreign Affairs, local media, and over 50 enterprises of tapioca starch factory in Tay Ninh, as well as Cambodian trading companies.

At the conference, Mr. Le Huu Hung, Vice President of Vietnam Cassava Association, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mr. Oknha Chray Sun, Chairman of the Cambodia Cassava Federation. The agreement targets the procurement of 45 million tons of fresh cassava roots over five years, with an estimated value exceeding USD 4 billion. This partnership establishes a long-term framework for cooperation in cassava sourcing, processing, and trade, while supporting sustainable industry development in both countries.

In parallel, Hung Duy Group’s tapioca starch factories and other manufacturers in Tay Ninh signed framework agreements with Cambodian partners for direct cassava procurement. These agreements reinforce supply chain connectivity, enhance cross-border trade, and contribute to building a stable raw material base to support export growth in the region.
